Here at the Buffalo church of Christ, our mission is Christ’s mission:
To seek and save the lost through the gospel, and to love and serve like Him.
God and Scripture
We believe God exists in three persons: God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Though each has a different role in the universe, all three are united in the perfect will of God.
We believe that the Scriptures are inspired by God, inerrant, and complete in their current form in the Old and New Testaments.
~ Matthew 26:39, 28:19; 1 Corinthians 12:4-6; 2 Peter 1:20-21; 2 Thessalonians 2:15; 2 Tiimothy 3:16-17 ~
The Gospel
We believe that all men have wronged (sinned) God’s good nature in some way. Whether we do things that violate our conscience or go against God’s commands, we all stand to be condemned before a perfect and holy God.
Thankfully, God has sacrificed His Son, Jesus, to take our wrongdoings to the cross so that we can be seen as righteous. When we trust in this powerful message and God raises us to a new life in baptism, God’s grace is extended to us when we deserve His wrath. Praise God for the GOOD NEWS about Jesus!
~ Isaiah 53; 59:1-2; Romans 3:10, 23; 5:8; 6:3-7; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Colossians 2:12
Church and Worship
We believe that Christ’s blood not only purchased us from slavery to sin but it also sanctifies the church (His bride) that he established. Through the church, everyone can have peace with one another and God. The only way we are truly reconciled to God is through the church!
God seeks true worshippers; did you know that? God desires to have people worship him in spirit and truth. In spirit, when we are in the right relationship with God, and in truth, when we worship how God wants. If it matters to God HOW He wants to be worshipped, then it should matter to us!
~ Ephesians 2:14-16; 5:24-27, John 4:23-24
Christian Living
Paul instructed the Christians in Rome to present themselves as living sacrifices. We are to die to ourselves and live for God. That means we should stop doing what’s wrong, no matter the consequences. If we steal, we need to stop stealing. If we lie, we need to stop lying. It makes no sense for us to continue doing the things that put our Savior on the cross.
Not only are we to stop the bad things, but we are also to pursue the good things. Here are some readings to help you understand what it means to live an honorable Christian life: Galatians 5:22-26; Colossians 3:12-14; 2 Peter 1:5-10.
